So basically, they're cutting their radio service in order to propagandize Arabs and Muslims, and UK taxpayers get to foot the bill. What a sweet deal.

"Maybe not many people now left that listen on Short Wave in Europe, are there any at all, for example?"

You mean, you don't know? You work for the BBC and you don't know whether there is still anyone tuning in on shortwave? Wouldn't the BBC have made at least some effort to find this out before cutting the service?

    Dear Paul,

Apologies for disturbing you but I am working for a programme called Europe Today on the BBC World Service.

My boss has passed on to me your website ShortWWWave and said "track down that person, they seem to know a lot about Shortwave radio. Might good to interview them".

As you are already aware the World Service are to stop transmitting on Short Wave in Europe from Monday and we looking for anyone who might be able to discuss whether this is a bad thing or not. Maybe not many people now left that listen on Short Wave in Europe, are there any at all, for example?

Sincerely

Dominic Martin
Not sure, John. In fact, now that the election is over, the new government has not committed to the funding of the new ABC3 channel, which was a promise from the previous government.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation will launch its third domestic television station, ABC3,
The ABC currently broadcasts two domestic channels, ABC-TV (analog and digital) and ABC2 (digital only).

Will ABC3, like ABC2 be only available to terrestrial signal viewers and those who subscribe to Foxtel satellite?
Rural viewers who only recieve FTA TV via satellite, after paying over $1000 for equipment and installation, do not have access to ABC2 unless they subscribe to pay TV, Foxtel.
